Receipt-required evidence for underwriters and actuaries.
GeoClear records flood, wildfire, storm, drought, seismic, and climate inputs into customer-held operational receipts, the evidence an actuary records and a reinsurer can verify later, independently.
Risk signals become customer-held operational receipts that support underwriting review, claims reconstruction, and reinsurance evidence.
The decision problem
An underwriter prices a property-level policy from a vendor's flood map screenshot, a separate climate-risk score, and a third address-validation pass. Three vendors, three logins, three answers that may disagree. When the policy is reviewed three years from now, the audit trail is a screenshot in a folder.
Why unsigned location creates risk
If the underlying signal was modified between the API response and the rate-set decision, the policy may be priced on data the carrier cannot defend. If the screenshot was taken from a vendor portal that has since updated its data, the carrier cannot reproduce what was actually returned at the time the rate was set.
Signals GeoClear returns
- FEMA flood zone + SFHA flag
- Wildfire hazard class
- Storm event history (NOAA/NCEI)
- Drought signal (US Drought Monitor)
- Seismic + earthquake hazard
- Composite 5-hazard climate score
- Address validation + rooftop precision
Verdict example
{ "address": "123 Coast Rd, Naples FL", "flood_zone": "AE", "sfha": true, "wildfire_class": "Moderate", "climate_composite": 0.62, "recommended_action": "review_required" }The receipt, your verifiable record
Every quote response can carry a customer-held operational receipt. The carrier retains the receipt + retained verification material alongside the policy file. At any later review, claims, regulator inquiry, reinsurance audit, the verifier reproduces what was returned at quote time, independently. The ground-truth flood map may have changed; the receipt locks what the carrier saw.

Business value
Reduces re-quote and dispute volume by giving claims teams a retained record of the verdict at policy bind. Strengthens reinsurance ceding evidence by replacing screenshots with customer-held operational receipts. Enables agent-driven quoting where the agent acts on the result and the carrier retains the receipt.
